What we do

Four service areas, one consistent method.

Community programmes are delivered in Barrow-in-Furness, the Furness peninsula and South Cumbria. Prison and through-the-gate work is delivered with HMPPS establishments across the North West and nationally. Every programme is adapted to its setting, but all of them start in the same place: building enough trust that someone keeps turning up.

Children & young people

Alternative Provision & Early Intervention

Structured support, personal development and physical activity for young people at risk of exclusion, already outside mainstream school, or showing early signs of disengagement or involvement in criminal activity.

What we deliver

  • 6-Week Personal Development Structured Intervention Pathway
  • Alternative Provision placements, part time, Key Stage 3 and 4
  • In-school early intervention groups for pupils at risk of exclusion
  • Youth Justice diversion and prevention work
  • Reintegration planning with the referring school

Who it’s for

Young people aged 11–16 whose behaviour, attendance or circumstances mean mainstream provision isn’t working right now. We take referrals from schools, the local authority, the Youth Justice Service and parents.

Criminal Justice & Rehabilitation

Through-the-Gate & Community Rehabilitation

Support before and after release, and in the community, focused on the practical things that make the difference: routine, health, education and sustainable work.

Where we work: community programmes run in Furness and South Cumbria. Prison-based and through-the-gate delivery is available to HMPPS establishments across the North West and nationally, subject to establishment agreement and clearance.

What we deliver

  • Pre-release engagement and resettlement planning
  • Post-release support in the first weeks, when risk is highest
  • Community rehabilitation alongside probation supervision
  • Youth Justice diversion and out-of-court disposal programmes
  • Physical activity and health promotion as an engagement route
  • Employment and training pathways
  • Reduced reoffending

Employer partnerships

We work with local employers across construction, fitness, beauty and hospitality. During the programme, participants can meet employers in the sectors they’re interested in, ask questions, and understand what the work actually involves before committing to it.

We are actively building this network. If you employ in Barrow or South Cumbria and would consider taking someone on, we would like to hear from you.

Health & wellbeing

Physical Activity & Wellbeing

We believe health and fitness are the gateway to everything else. When someone starts sleeping properly, moving regularly and feeling stronger, the rest becomes possible. Exercise is often the easiest door to walk through, and the most solid foundation to build on.

What we deliver

  • Group physical activity sessions, adapted to ability and confidence
  • Health promotion covering sleep, nutrition, alcohol and substance use
  • Mental wellbeing sessions built on trauma-informed practice
  • Referral and signposting into local health services

Who delivers it

Physical activity sessions are delivered by qualified fitness professionals, not by generalists running a warm-up. Participants get proper coaching, appropriate to their ability and starting point, in a real gym environment.

We are not a clinical service. Where someone needs treatment, we work alongside health colleagues rather than in place of them.

Safety first

Sessions are designed so nobody is put on the spot or made to perform.

Small groups

Numbers kept low so everyone is known by name.

Qualified staff

Trained, DBS-checked and supervised throughout.

Local venues

Delivered in places people can reach without a car.
